The Irish emigration saga that I have been working on for the last 12 months is now finished and the first draft is being circulated to a few suitable literary agents in the hope that it is good enough to catch their attention. I'm told that their desks are groaning under the weight of similar manuscripts sent by other hopeful writers, all clamouring for attention.
Looks like I’ll need a bit of luck then, eh?
I mentioned some books that helped in my research in my last post. I would also like to pay tribute to the website built by Joe McGowan of Mullaghmore, a renown Irish historian with an in-depth knowledge of Sligo history. (sligoheritage.com) Thanks Joe, there was much in your site that reminded me of my childhood memories.
